Who We are

As members of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobiling Clubs since 1974, the organizations has grown, moved and developed into a very active club with 230+ members. Originally, the group met in an old wooden one-room structure on a club member’s farm, but by the new millennium, had outgrown the old premises and started to look for newer and much larger clubhouse.

Our Clubhouse

In September of 2000, a small home was purchased and relocated to the current location overlooking the picturesque Saugeen River, at the back of Cedar Rail Campground, just north of Scone. The clubhouse is equipped with a kitchen, running water and indoor washroom facilities.

President's Message

Hello to fellow snowmobilers & club members: I hope everyone had a great summer. The apple trees are loaded & the weather is already turning cold & wet. The rain won’t be long filling the swamps. It all points to a great snowmobiling season!

In the spring newsletter I made reference to the closure of our Dornoch trail & how we needed volunteers if we were going to reroute & reopen this trail. I am happy to say that 2 people have come forward from the area & will be working on this objective. However, as I also said in the spring newsletter: Trails don’t make themselves, People make trails. The more people the easier it is; so I ask that if you have some time, please give Wayne or April a call at 519-369-2241 or drop us an email @ chesleyeasyriders@ gmail.com.

I would also like to thank the volunteers that helped with our Annual Fish Fry & Landowners Appreciation Dinner, as well as the numerous other activities that come with the operation of a Snowmobile Club. Your efforts are very much appreciated. Once again if you have time to help out please contact us.

In closing, I hope that everyone has a great season &I ask you respect our landowners’ property. Don’t ride until the trails are open. PLEASE obey our signs and remember to STAY BETWEEN THE BRIGHT ORANGE Markers & if you pack it in, please pack it out.

Check us out on the web @ www.chesleyeasyriders.com
See you on the trails

Our Volunteers

As Marc mentioned in the presidents letter we are hoping to develop a new trail to the Dornach area, since the Krug bush has been closed to snowmobiling and we closed the floating bridge trail. We welcome two new volunteer members to our club who come from that area and are willing to help plan this trail. As Marc mentioned they are Wayne & April Small and they need your help. Trails don’t build themselves; Volunteers build trails. We need more people from that area who know the land owners and the possible route that could be used. This upcoming winter we may only be able to sign the road for the best route until we can develop the new trail.

Drivers Training; Daryl Barfoot is our new driver trainer. She has not been able to set a date for a training session as she has not been trained yet. If there is someone who would like to take the driver training course please call her at 519-363-2022 and Daryl will contact you as soon as she is able to.

NB: If you would like me to E-Mail our newsletter to you please send me your E-mail address to - barb@abdobson.ca. It would save our club some money in mailing costs and time and more information could be passed on to you. When you are filling out the permit application, if you do not check the box beside “Application for OFSC Benefits/Offers” I cannot legally send you a club newsletter.(freedom of information act) so please check it so that you may continue to get the newsletter.
